Care Poverty – a new approach to unmet long-term care needs

The Centre for Research in Health and Social Care in the School for Policy Studies is delighted to welcome Professor Teppo Kröger as our annual Centre seminar speaker on the topic of ‘care poverty – a new approach to unmet long-term care needs’. This talk will be based on his recently published book of the same title.

Teppo Kröger is Professor of Social and Public Policy at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, and Professor II at the Centre for Care Research West, Bergen, Norway. He is Director of the Centre of Excellence in Research on Ageing and Care (CoE AgeCare), which is a large-scale research investment of the Academy of Finland. His studies have focused on, for example, social care for older people, integration of formal and informal care, conditions of care work and reconciliation of caring and paid employment. He has drafted new concepts for the analysis of care policy, including welfare municipalityweak universalismdedomesticationdemographic paniccare capital and care poverty.
