Taught programmes

Our taught postgraduate programmes combine critical inquiry, creative practice and industry collaboration across arts, culture, media, music, philosophy, anthropology and emerging technologies. Courses are offered on a full-time basis over one year or part-time, spread over two years.

- MA in PhilosophyExplore contemporary philosophy in depth through specialist pathways, expert teaching and original research. Build critical thinking and analytical skills, work closely with academic experts, and become part of a thriving and supportive postgraduate philosophy community.
- MA AnthropologyGain the research skills, practical experience and global perspective to address contemporary social and cultural challenges. Learn from leading anthropologists, undertake industry placements, and explore diverse issues through innovative research, fieldwork and community engagement opportunities.
- MA Immersive Arts (Virtual and Augmented Reality)Develop the creative and technical skills to design immersive experiences using VR, AR and mixed reality. Learn from leading experts, collaborate with industry partners, and transform your creative practice into innovative interactive content for a rapidly expanding global sector.
Research programmes (MPhil, MMus/PhD)
We welcome and encourage applications for postgraduate degrees by research. In addition to topics focusing on single research areas, we actively encourage interdisciplinary research that cuts across the spectrum of arts studies, or other intellectual disciplines in the Faculty of Arts and beyond. Joint supervision may be provided.
