Zoe Bush, a fifth-year medical student at the University of Bristol has won the 2016 'Choosing General Practice' competition, run by GPOnline and supported by the Royal College of General Practice.
Zoe told GP online that she had entered the competition to encourage other medical students to consider general practice as a future career.
Maureen Baker, Chair of the RCGP, said: "Zoe submitted a truly inspirational piece which highlighted the positives of the profession and also explored the future of general practice. It touched upon some really important aspects of general practice and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it - a worthy winner. This competition continues to show that there is still a passion for general practice among medical students and trainees, and I’m proud that the College can play a part in showcasing this. "
