Dr. Jonathan Buhot awarded EPSRC Open Fellowship

Dr. Jonathan Buhot, from our Quantum & Soft Matter research theme, has been awarded an EPSRC Open Fellowship to undertake research within the School of Physics on hydride superconductors.

EPSRC Open Fellowships are a prestigious individual award aimed at ambitious and talented researchers, and technical professionals who wish to develop, expand or establish a programme of research.

Thanks to this 5 years award, including £1.6 million funding, Dr. Jonathan Buhot will build his own research team and develop state-of-the art experiments using high pressure techniques to address fundamental questions and how to realize high-Tc “conventional” superconductors. The ultimate goal being to discover new superconductors at ambient conditions.

Many congratulations to Jonathan, and we cannot wait to see where this leads his and the School's research!
