Staff & Student Networks

The School and University has a range of networks to support staff and students with different identities and interests. Our networks provide a safe space for colleagues with shared identities or circumstances to connect with others, share experiences and challenge organisational practices to create a more inclusive working environment.

Staff networks offer regular meetings and events for their members, and are also consulted on University policy and guidance, to ensure that the voices of members are heard and reflected in the decision-making process. Our Staff networks therefore play a key role in making the University better and more inclusive. Our staff networks are only open to members of staff at the University.

Students who are interested in connecting with others with shared identities, circumstances or interests can do so through student groups. Bristol is home to around 400 sports clubs and societies, one of the highest numbers of any SU in the country. This means that no matter where your interests lie we’ve probably got a club for you! Students can also find out about the work being done to create an inclusive student community

For more information about our current networks, please use the links on the right of the webpage as well as some key networks listed below:

In addition to this, the Bristol Physics Society, CHAOS, runs BME, LGBTQ+ and Women's networks for students to join. You can find out more about these on the CHAOS webpages.

The University also offers trans and non-binary mentoring for students, run by the central teams.
