Loan periods and borrowing limits
All Arts and Social Sciences Library items are subject to the standard loan periods and borrowing limits with the following exceptions:
- These materials are confined to the library:
- new books on display
- reference books
- theses
- items from special collections
- recent issues of journals
- examination papers
- books marked with a red label
Subject Librarian
Get expert advice and support from your subject librarian at any point during your studies! Your subject librarian is the go-to person for help with:
- accessing library resources
- finding and evaluating information
- referencing
- recommending books or ebooks to add to our collection
IT Counter
From Monday 16 June, services will be available just inside the rear entrance of the Fry Building (School of Mathematics). All existing services and opening hours will remain the same, but the location will be different. Services will return to the Arts & Social Sciences Library after it reopens.
Important dates to note:

Wednesday 12 to Thursday 13 June: Counter service will be closed during the move.

Monday 16 June: Services will reopen in the Fry Building.
The counter is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4pm, offering an efficient and friendly service and currently operates on a first come first served basis.
The counter is co-located with the Student Laptop and Mobile Clinic to offer a combined service for staff and students at a single location.
