Over the summer vacation

This summer vacation period, Library Services are here to support your studying. You can continue to get help by using our Live Chat service or contacting us directly.
Vacation loans
- All eligible items borrowed from Wednesday 20 May will be due back at the earliest on Wednesday 16 September
- Any eligible items you currently have on loan will update to a due date of Wednesday 16 September when they next automatically renew (they will not renew if they have been reserved by another user).
Which Libraries and Study Spaces are open?
All libraries remain open over the summer
- The Arts & Social Sciences Library will remain open 24/7 until 8pm on Friday 3 July. Opening hours then change to 8am to 8pm, including weekends.
- The Medical Library will be open from 9am to 10pm, Monday to Friday, and 10am to 10pm Saturdays and Sundays, until 24 June. It will then revert to vacation opening hours.
- The Veterinary Sciences Library will remain open 24/7 for those students who have completed their online Health and Safety inductions.
- All other libraries will be open 9am to 5pm, Mondays to Friday, but will be closed at the weekends.
Study Spaces that will be open:
- Beacon House, 8am-10pm, including weekends.
- Senate House, 8am-10pm, closed at weekends.
Study Spaces that will be closed: Hawthorns and Grace Reeves.
Bank Holidays and closure day
Bank Holiday Monday, 25 May the following locations are open:
Arts & Social Sciences Library - 24/7
Medical Library - 9am to 10pm
Veterinary Sciences Library - 9am to 5pm
Wills Library - 9am to 5pm
Beacon House - 8am to 10pm
All other libraries and library managed study centres will be closed.
For the Bank Holiday and university closure day 26th and 27th August, the following sites will be open:
- Arts & Social Sciences Library - 8am to 8pm
- Wills Memorial Library - 8am to 8pm
- Beacon House - 8am to 10pm
