Keeping safe in the heat

It's important to take extra care in the heat - follow these tips to keep cool and safe, especially if you are at a higher risk of becoming unwell (e.g. taking antidepressants)

  • Drink plenty of water (little sips often)
  • Wear SPF, especially if you’re outside or commuting
  • Avoid direct sun (11am - 3pm) and wear light, breathable clothes
  • Take breaks and find shade (Royal Fort Gardens has lots of shady spots)
  • Know the symptoms of heat exhaustion and heatstroke and what to do if you or someone else has them
