Jule is Co-Director of the Centre for European and Public Law. Jule works on European, international, and comparative gender equality law, EU non-discrimination law, the EU concept of vulnerability and European comparative law.

Gavin is Co-Director of the Centre for European and Public Law. Gavin works on UK public law, comparative public law, constitutional theory, as well as human rights law relating to free speech, privacy, extreme speech, public protest, and counterterrorism law.

Diego specialises in EU migration law and EU citizenship law.

Katie conducts sociolegal research on the relationship between forced migrants and the State as well as on the ECHR and the Human Rights Act.

Beril specialises in the intersection between law and digital technologies, particularly data protection, the public-private divide, and theories of autonomy.

Matthew specialises in constitutional Law as well as the law on terrorism and freedom of expression.

Robert specialises in constitutional law focusing on the Royal Prerogative, ouster clauses, the separation of powers and Parliamentary Sovereignty.

Sandra's research investigates the relationship between gender identity and law.

Robert is a Lecturer in Law at the University of Bristol Law School. His research focuses on the relationship between law and politics in constitutional democracies and the changing nature of the UK constitution. In particular, Robert is interested in how political institutions, such as Parliament and the political parties, understand, interact, and shape the Constitution. He adopts an interdisciplinary approach to studying Public Law issues, which draws upon and combines aspects of public law with political theory and political science.

Emily is a Lecturer in Law at the University of Bristol Law School. Her research focuses on EU constitutional law, especially on the interaction between the sources of EU law and the legal reasoning of the European Court of Justice. Emily also works on the status and interpretation of retained/assimilated EU law in the UK after Brexit. Her expertise in this area has led to invitations to give evidence before the Scottish Parliament CEEAC Committee and to the House of Lords APPG on the Rule of Law. She has published widely including in the Cambridge Law Journal, the Common Market Law Review and the Cambridge Yearbook of European Legal Studies.

Václav works on European tort law, data protection, the regulation of AI, and e-justice.

Guy works on political and constitutional theory, especially theories of supranational constitutionalism.

Ed conducts socio-legal research on relations between individuals and a diffused, hollowed-out State, as well as relations within the State, with a particular focus on deaths and homes/housing.

Jacopo works on European constitutional and political theory with particular focus on European Citizenship.

Margherita conducts socio-legal research on environmental matters including EU environmental law and environmental regulation.

Tony specialises in economic constitutions and regulation.

Julian specialises in constitutional theory, constitutional history, and comparative constitutional law.

Albert specialises in EU internal market law, including competition, State aid, procurement and digital regulation, as well as UK-EU alignment.

Phil works on European constitutional law, European labour law, sovereignty, and Brexit.

Haoyu’s research focuses on the regulation of cross-border data transfers under the GDPR, especially the balance between the right to data protection and national security concerns. Haoyu also works on emerging technologies and their interaction with the EU data protection framework.
