Global Development research strand seminar series: Building a Global Urban Science

8 June 2021, 2.00 PM - 8 June 2021, 3.00 PM

Professor Susan Parnell

The centrality of cities to any social, economic, fiscal or ecological change demands a common register for their study. A global urban science, however loosely defined, has to operate across scales, disciplines, paradigms and contexts.  Efforts to forge a global urban science would do well to engage scholars, practitioners, politicians and of course residents. Global urban science is an ambitious but not impossible task that is an imperative if any sustainable development ambitions are to be achieved.
