Unit choice and information
Units are taught in either teaching block one or teaching block two.
Teaching on all units is a combination of lectures and class tutorials/exercise classes.
If you are studying with us for the full year, you will be expected to study 120 University of Bristol credit points. To have a balanced timetable, you should take an equal number of credit points per teaching block.
If you are studying with us for either teaching block one or teaching block two, you will be expected to study 60 University of Bristol credit points.
Credit points are only awarded when the unit has been completed together with all the required examinations and/or coursework (formative and summative).
European Credit Transfer Scheme (ECTS) for Erasmus+ students
20 University of Bristol credit points = 10 ECTS
It is important you thoroughly research the units you would like to take. You can check whether a unit will be suitable by:
- carefully reading the unit description;
- checking the pre-requisite unit knowledge that will be assumed.
Units with pre-requisite knowledge
You'll need a certain level of subject knowledge to take some units, or your may need to study another unit first. The unit descriptions for each unit will state any pre-requisite knowledge required.
It is your responsibility to make sure that your unit choices are approved by your home university.
Find out which of our units are available to Erasmus Students for 2020-21 in the Erasmus Study Guide 2020 (PDF, 321kB)
Units are subject to change in their availability and content.
Changes to units can only be made during the first week of term.
Due to potential timetable conflicts, we are not able to guarantee your first choice of units. If two or more units run on the same days and times, you will need to decide which unit to keep and which to drop as you can only study one of the units.
