Withdrawing from your studies
If you decide to withdraw from your course, or a decision is made by the University to withdraw you, we must notify the UKVI. Sending a notification to UKVI that you have withdrawn from your studies is part of the University's responsibility as your Student visa sponsor. We will email you 24 hours before the notification is made.
Following this, the UKVI will cancel your visa, which usually means that your visa will expire 60 days after they process our notification. This can happen at any time after UKVI are notified of withdrawal, so you should leave the UK within 60 days of receiving the email from us.
Please be aware that once the UKVI take cancellation action you cannot travel back into the UK if you are outside the UK, even if this is still within the 60-day period. Leaving the UK once the 60-day period has started may also invalidate the remainder of your visa.
This change to your immigration status would mean you no longer have the right to work in the UK after the new adjusted visa expiry date, which will be 60 days after the UKVI process the withdrawal of sponsorship notification from the University.
