What you can study
Germany is the largest national economy in Europe and the fourth largest globally. Bristol offers a dynamic environment in which to study this nation that remains so central to the world's political and economic order, and grow in understanding the diverse culture, history, politics, and lifestyles of the German-speaking world.
You can find units on:

Pre-requisites
Some GERM units have language requirements. For units taught in English translation, see the Cultural Studies guide.
At UK universities, students specialise from their first year and rarely take units outside their degree subject. This means that:
- Year 1 units are suitable for all students.
- Year 2 units require some university study in the discipline, and some require knowledge of German.
- Year 3 units require a strong background in the discipline, and some require knowledge of German.
