Celebrate the results of BDFI’s three winning sandpit projects through a morning of presentations, interactive demos and networking.
Following the success of the BDFI Research Sandpit earlier this year, we are delighted to showcase the outcomes of the three winning pilot projects:
- SAFER-FLOW
A project exploring how immersive data visualisation can help health planners and policymakers better understand the complex interdependencies across urgent and emergency care services, enabling more effective decision-making to improve capacity, patient flow and care outcomes. - PORTAL
A project exploring how immersive technologies can help communities engage with the past, present and future of urban places, enabling more inclusive participation in creating healthy, sustainable and climate-resilient cities. - Co-Producing Genetic Risk Communication Through Immersive Visualisation
A project exploring how immersive visualisation can improve understanding of genetic risk information by making complex genomic data more accessible, interactive and meaningful for researchers, healthcare professionals, policymakers and the public.
The morning will feature a series of short presentations from project teams, highlighting their research, key findings and future potential. Attendees will then have the opportunity to experience interactive demonstrations of the simulations developed by each team in the Reality Emulator, providing a hands-on insight into their work. Refreshments and networking opportunities will be available throughout the event, with the programme concluding with lunch at 1pm.
