Bristol Teaching Awards
The Bristol Teaching Awards (BTAs) recognise and celebrate individual staff and teams (both academic and professional services) who have made an outstanding contribution to teaching, the provision of support for students, and/or enhance the student learning experience. Award categories and nomination criteria
Students and staff are invited to nominate in a range of individual and team award categories. We strongly advise reading each award's categories nomination criteria by clicking the links below and considering the general eligibility requirements before placing nominations. Guidance for nominators also provides top tips to make your nominations stand out. The 2023 award categories include:
BTA Timeline 2023
6 March, 9am Nominations open.
27 March, 9am Nominations close.
14 April – Nominations announced (nominees will be notified by email during the nomination period).
11 May – Shortlist announced. View the shortlist for 2023 on the BILT Blog.
7 June – Winners announced. Visit the 2023 winners gallery.

Inspiring and Innovative Teaching Award
This award is for individual staff members who inspire students through their teaching. Postgraduate students who teach are eligible. One award will be made per faculty.

Inspiring and Innovative Teaching Team Award
This award is for a team of staff who inspire students through their teaching. Cross faculty teams are eligible. Team nominations should include a clearly defined staff group and a robust illustration of how everyone within the team has contributed. One award will be made.

Outstanding Personal Tutoring Award
This award is for individual staff members who provide personal tutoring. One award will be made.

Outstanding Research Supervison Award
This award is for individual staff members or teams who undertake research supervision. One award will be made.

Outstanding Support Award
This award is for individual staff members from Professional Services or a technical team who provide support for teaching and learning and/or pastoral support. One award will be made.
