Informing Bristol’s health policy
ALSPAC has contributed evidence to Bristol’s local public health needs assessments. ALSPAC data were analysed for Bristol City Council’s sexual health needs assessment to inform the 2016 recommissioning of sexual health services. ALSPAC findings were also cited in the city’s 2018 suicide prevention needs assessment. These demonstrate local evidence use; the latter citation does not by itself establish a subsequent service change.
We consider this an important contribution towards local policy planning.
