There are two types of postgraduate degrees on offer within the department. The MA programmes are taught degree programmes whereas the research degrees are MPhil, MLitt and PhD programmes.

The results of the Block Grant Partnership Scheme (BGP) are now in. The University of Bristol is one of only five institutions to have been rated 'excellent' by the AHRC panel and the quota places the University among the top seven BGP institutions. As part of the allocation of studentships, the Department of Theology and Religious Studies is able to offer one annual AHRC doctoral studentship. Applicants will normally need a first-class/distinction profile (achieved or predicted) to be competitive. The deadline for application is 29 February 2012.
