Physics Library staff support

You have access to the study spaces and collection throughout our opening hours. Library staff are available Monday - Friday from 4:30pm-7pm during term-time. Outside of these hours telephone, Live Chat, and email help is available.

Physics Library Winter vacation closure

  • The library will close at 5pm on Monday 23 December and reopen at 9am on Friday 3 January 2025.
  • Please also note the library is closed on Thursday 19 December for a Library staff training day. 
    ASSL, Beacon House and other study centres will be open on this date.

Loan periods and borrowing limits

All Physics Library items are subject to the standard loan periods and borrowing limits with the following exceptions
MaterialLoan periods and restrictions
Journals All users - seven-day loan
Current issues of journals Staff and research postgraduates - overnight loan
New books on display, reference books, theses when used by undergraduates, very old rare books, some journals Confined to library
