Research Interests
Katharine Charsley's principle research interests are in gender, the family, and migration, particularly in the field of cross-border marriages. She has carried out ethnographic research on Pakistani transnational marriages and has broader interests in South Asia and its diasporas, and in ethnicity and transnationalism. She has also worked on Scottish graduate migration and retention. She is currently developing further research on marriage-related migration to Britain.
