CGIA event and funding resources

The Centre for Governance & International Affairs is able to offer expertise in organising conferences, workshops, and training courses, and is currently developing a series of events to explore issues relating to governance under its three research themes. Facilities for visitors to the Centre are also available.

Conferences

The CGIA has access to excellent conference facilities at the University of Bristol, and where appropriate, can produce high quality briefing packs for conferences, the media and policy-makers.

Workshops

Excellent facilities for workshops and seminars are offered at the University of Bristol, and the Centre can produce high quality briefing papers and materials for workshop participants and the media.

Training

The CGIA works in partnership with other departments in the Faculty of Social Sciences and across the University to offer high quality courses and training on all aspects of governance.

Postdocs

There are opportunities at Bristol for Postdoctoral Researchers and Research Fellows.

Visitors

Through out the year, we welcome a series of academic visitors to the CGIA and the Department of Politics, for a variety of different research activities. These are generally based around the research groups: Gender and Governance; Non-traditional and Human Security; International Development and Governance and European Governance.

A number of different funding schemes (pdf, 105 Kb) are available for colleagues at different career stages, depending on whether you are an established academic or policy maker, or a relatively new entrant to the profession.
