Caitlin Flint

Graduated with Mathematics MSci in 2016

Current role

Student Records Administrator at the University of Bristol

What was your career path after graduating?

I joined Bristol SU the day before graduating. I started there as a Student Services Assistant, then after about one and a half years moved to Academic Representation. This included working with course and faculty reps and ensuring that students voices are being heard by the University. I also work on a number of projects, such as the Bristol Teaching Awards, Best of Bristol Lectures and Richmond Lectures.

I have just started at the University of Bristol in the role of Student Records Administrator.

Why did you decide to apply for your course at Bristol?

I liked maths at A-level and was good at it. I really liked the fun things that came out of maths, and how it is hidden in literally everything.

I loved Bristol as a city; there's so much going on, and it felt like home already.

What did you enjoy most about your time studying at the School of Mathematics?

I made some really close friends on my course, and there was a sense of community in uni that I haven't found anywhere else.

Do you have any advice or tips for prospective students looking to study Maths at Bristol?

Maths is hard but can be really interesting and fun! You get so much more out of studying maths than the ability to integrate and differentiate, and Bristol has so much going on that you'll have the opportunity to do many amazing things.
