Medical absence policy for funded Postgraduate Research students

6 September 2018

Updated policy details for 2018/19.

Since 1 August 2018, a policy for medical absence for University funded postgraduate research students has been incorporated within the University Regulations and Code of Practice for Research Degree Programmes.

Students who think they may be affected by this should ensure that they have read and understood the policy. Any student who has to take a period of absence for medical reasons should contact their school's Postgraduate Administrator at the earliest opportunity. The Postgraduate Administrator will confirm the source of funding and the level of financial support that may be available.

Students who are self-funded or who receive funding from other sources (including Alumni funding) will be entitled to suspend their studies but will not necessarily receive the equivalent financial support.
