Emma's research focuses upon the reception of Greek and Roman literature (primarily tragedy and epic) in contemporary theatre. She is particularly interested in experimental and avant-garde forms of performance reception.
Emma is passionate about public engagement and outreach work, and in recent years has delivered school talks for the Harris Academy federation, and at Varndean Sixth Form College, Brighton. She has also run sessions for the UCL Ancient World Summer School, the London Summer School in Homer, the JSST Repton Classical Civilisation and Ancient History Summer School, and the Access to Bristol scheme, alongside professional development courses for teachers at the JACT annual conference.
