An innovative 4-year PhD in Synthetic Chemistry.

Our programme

Gain the transferable skills that industry increasingly demands in today's competitive world. Our two-pronged programme includes lab skills, industrial training and research.

Graduate destinations

All our graduates (2009 and 2010 cohorts) are currently in employment. Destinations include industry, academia and other pathways such as teaching, accountancy, policy and law.

I was unsure of the type of synthetic chemistry PhD project I wanted to carry out. I liked the idea of being able to try three different lab environments before choosing.

Jessica Hall (2014 Cohort)

Our vision is to approach the whole area of chemical synthesis as a group rather than as individuals. By bringing together inorganic, organic and physical chemists, we break down traditional barriers, providing a more holistic experience for our postgraduates.
