Supporting Badock residents
For the student residents at Badock Hall there are two teams of staff working to support them 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Weekdays 0700 - 1915 hrs
During the normal working week the Hall Operational Staff are on duty covering catering, maintenance and cleaning.
- The Hall Office is open each weekday from 08:30 to 16:00hrs.
- Kate Strong,the Student Support Administrator, handles all student administration and queries. She is available from 08:00 hrs - 16:00 hrs to assist with problems and queries

- If a student is locked out they can contact a Porter via the Hall Office. There is a Porter on duty throughout each weekday until 1915 hrs
Evenings (1915 hrs - 2330 hrs) and weekends (1030 hrs - 2330 hrs)
Each evening and over the weekend periods the Hall and its residents is in the care of the
Pastoral Team headed by the Warden, Mrs Francoise Evans who deals with pastoral and disciplinary issues.
- The Warden and her senior residents all live on site
- Students needing assistance between 19:15 hrs and 23:30 hrs each weekday and from 10:00 hrs and 23:30 hrs at weekends can contact the duty tutor
- A duty rota is displayed on each unit notice board giving mobile contact details.
- The duty senior resident will respond to requests for assistance up to 23:30 hrs
- This contact information is also displayed on the notice board next to the Porters' Lodge in Main Reception
Each day of the week after 23:30 hrs and before 07:00 hrs
The University of Bristol Security Team is available 7 days a week from 23:30 hrs through to 07:00 hrs each morning to deal with emergency problems in Hall.

Students are encouraged to call Security, in complete confidence, if they are being disturbed after 23:30 hrs.
Seeking personal advice
For any student resident wishing to discuss personal or confidential issues, the Warden is very happy to meet for a discussion in total confidence
- To make an appointment to see the Warden a resident may visit the Hall Office in person or
- Ring internal extension 32480 (0117 903 2480) during office hours.
Operational responsibilities - maintenance, catering, cleaning
The overall management of the day-to-day operation and the buildings is under the care of the departmental managers and their teams.
- The Accommodation Manager's staff deals with the general running and maintenance of the campus, the servicing of the accommodation and the Catering Manager oversees delivery of the catering service.
- Members of the Hall Staff Team are on duty from 07:00 hrs each weekday morning to 19:15 hrs each weekday evening.
- A Porter is on site from 09:00 hrs to 14:00 hrs both on Saturday and Sunday in term time. There is no Porter on duty on any Bank Holiday Monday in term time.
