Travel from Clifton campus to Stoke Bishop by road

Starting outside the Wills Memorial Building follow the Queen's Road one-way system to the Victoria Rooms and branch right into Whiteladies Road; approximately 1 mile ahead  Whiteladies Road leads into Blackboy Hill.  Continue straight ahead up the hill, across the traffic lights at the top and on to the Downs parkland on Stoke Road (large water tower and cafe to your right).

At the far side of the parkland are traffic lights.  Go straight through these lights and as the road ahead begins to go down hill, take the first right turn into Stoke Park Road (on the corner is a sign Botanic Gardens).  Within 100 metres to your left is Churchill Hall.  Continue ahead and down hill 100 metres.

The first signed entrance to Badock Hall Grounds is on your right - this is for the Conference Centre.

If you are visiting the Main Building please continue down the hill another 70 metres, here as the road curves to the left - immediately on the right hand side is the main entrance to Badock Grounds (with tennis courts inside the gate).  Turn in right here and you will see parking directly ahead.

The Main Building Entrance and Reception is accessed via steps at the far end of the car park.

Face down hill and cross the road from the bus stop, walk 30 yards down hill to the first corner and turn right into Stoke Park Road.  Badock entrance is 200 metres ahead of you on the bend in the road.   The Main Reception is accessed down steps at the far end of the car park.

Travel options - Road

The majority of visitors to Badock Hall will travel by road.   Please do not use SATNAV to cover the final mile or so, invariably this leads drivers to a dead end cul de sac and a dangerous rough track..

Note:  There is no easy access to Badock Hall from the end of Ormerod / Birbeck Road - although this appears to be the case on all published maps, including Google!

MOTORWAY DELAYS traffic volumes frequently cause delays on the M5 and the M4 approaches to Bristol, please make allowances in your travel plan for this and for the inevitable slow progress in the final mile or so.
