History of Badock Hall

Badock Hall was named after Sir Stanley Hugh Badock, a benefactor and former Pro-Chancellor, Treasurer and Chairman of the University Council.

During the re-construction of Goldney Hall in the late 1960s, the ladies of Goldney were re-housed for a period of time at the Badock campus, then early in the 1970s the Hall was finally given mixed resident status.

Since the millennium the hall has developed as a diverse and supportive community.  It is renowned as a welcoming home for more than 440 students.   New residents will find a fair and friendly residence, with a welcoming atmosphere, where student members settle quickly into the student way of life, life enjoying the wide range of facilities and lively social scene.
