The University of Bristol has been creating residences for students for almost 100 years so there is a huge variety of accommodation. In order to calculate our fees as fairly as possible we start by looking at the size of your study bedroom. Our standard rooms fall between 9 and 11 square metres of usable floor space and we have bands either side of that. All our room were last measured in February 2012
But your accommodation fee will often cover far more than just a room and so we add extras to the basic fee for:
Once all this has been added together the fees are banded. This makes it possible for us the administer the fees and avoid mistakes but it can mean that some rooms in the same rent band are a bit bigger or smaller than others.
