Visitor parking at our residences

From August 2017 virtual pay and display visitor parking will be available to all residence car parks. This replaces the online system previously used for visitors to the residences, and aims to greatly improve the experience for both residents and their guests by cutting out the need to register online and book parking in advance. Visitors can instead book parking vouchers over the phone or by text message directly from the car park using virtual pay and display systems that will be locacted in each car park from September 2017.

Conference delegates and visitors

All delegates visiting seminars, conferences and events held in our residences will be required to pre-book visitor’s spaces through the Conference Office Team or purchase parking vouchers over the phone or by text message directly from the car park using virtual pay and display systems that will be locacted in each car park from September 2017.

Visitor spaces are limited and delegates are encouraged to access the University by public transport or means other than the car. Spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

For Staff Voucher purchases the applications will be reviewed prior to permit authorisation by a member of the Residences Facilities team.

How to book virtual visitor permits

You will need to register for an online account with PermitSmarti and purchasing vouchers through VoucherSmarti. Full details of how to book your parking are available in in our PermitSmarti how to guide (PDF, 1,027kB)

Please note that Virtual Visitor Permits are non-transferable from one vehicle to another, nor between residence car parks.

Disabled visitors

Disabled visitors should use the designated disabled spaces, nearest to their intended designation wherever possible. If all disabled parking spaces are full at any given site, local arrangements should be found to park the visitor in a suitable location. Disabled visitors do not require a virtual permit but must display their Blue Badge.
