Neil James, Head of Venues & Events
Having worked in the Hotel Industry for 22 years before joining the University 2018, I am now responsible for the University of Bristol's Venues & Events Department. Customers are the centre of our business, so my goal is to always ensure our team deliver high levels of service and build exceptional relationship with our clients.

Vicky Durant, Event Services Manager
I have a strong background in events, sales, and weddings, having previously run my own businesses in the sector and, more recently, worked as an Event Manager within the hotel industry. I’m delighted to have joined the University and am eager to bring my industry expertise to the organisation. I am committed to providing exceptional service to clients and look forward to building relationships with a diverse range of people as part of my role.

Megan Quantick, Business Development Manager
As the Business Development Manager for the Venue and Events Team, I am responsible for fostering strategic partnerships, driving new business opportunities, and ensuring the seamless execution of events across our diverse and iconic facilities in Bristol. With a background in event coordination and operations, commercial management, and client relations, I work closely with both internal teams and external partners to deliver memorable experiences, creating value for all stakeholders.

Hannah Pearce, Project and Improvement Coordinator
Since graduating University with a degree in Event Management, I have experience working in an agency, venue finding and in sales & planning within hotels and venues in London. I joined the team in July 2021 and my role is to co-ordinate all kinds of events for both internal and external clients working across all campuses and the many venues available.

I joined the University of Bristol, venues and events team to assist temporarily however I fit in with the team and the university so perfectly decided to apply for the full-time, permanent job! Working in events is something I have always loved as I get to work closely with clients, build relationships, provide exceptional service, ensure the smooth running of events and have the opportunity to be creative every day.

My background is Events and Catering as a key account manager for several large organisations, including the University of Bristol. Due to the pandemic and how it affected independent businesses, I was made redundant. I am pleased to have joined the team in 2022, being back in the world of events that I have a passion and experience for.

Since graduating University with a first degree in Business management I have worked in an events capacity within a range of businesses including multiple universities. I joined the University of Bristol Venues and Events team as a new challenge to utilise my experience and skills in a new setting. I thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to work with a wide host of clients and venues to deliver a brilliant service and exceptional customer experience.

I joined the University of Bristol, Venues & Events Team end of 2023, as a Campus Administrator. I am bringing an extensive amount of knowledge and skills from previous Project Management, Coordination and Administration roles. I am here to apply my proficiency in database management, general record maintenance and other administrative tasks to support the team in providing the best client service possible.

Lauren Duvall, Events Apprentice
After gaining customer service experience in health/retail sectors, I joined the team in September 2024, as an Events Assistant Apprentice. My role is to support the team whilst developing skills and experiences in all aspects of event management from the initial customer requirement to the operational phase of the event. I feel very privileged to work at the University of Bristol, with its wide variety of event venues and look forward to completing my apprenticeship and supporting the team in providing excellent customer service and high-quality events.
