Info for researchers

Who can apply? 

Researchers from the University of Bristol and other institutions in the UK and beyond can apply to deposit or use samples. 

We accept samples from: 

• Clinical trials. 
• Routine healthcare (with ethical approval). 
• Healthy volunteers.

 

How to deposit samples?

To deposit samples, researchers must submit a Deposit Application with: 

• Description of the samples.
• Donor data (broad categories, e.g. general ranges of age, weight, medication). 
• Study/research protocol. 
• Patient Information Sheet and Consent Forms (if depositing from a study). 
• Funding evidence (if collecting samples to deposit using biobank ethics). 
  

 

How to request samples?

To deposit samples into the Biobank, researchers must submit a Use Application with: 

• Number and type of samples desired. 
• Research protocol and lay summary. 
• Funding and peer review evidence. 
• List of researchers and collaborators, with CVs and roles.
