MSci Biology with Professional Placement

The MSci Biology with Professional Placement degree builds on the foundation of the BSc Biology, to develop applied research and analytical skills. This additional depth gives you a competitive edge, whether you are aiming for graduate roles in industry or planning to pursue an academic career.

Studying biology at Bristol exposes you to the breadth and depth of biological sciences, from genes to ecosystems. During your study, you will gain fundamental knowledge of the diversity, evolution and functions of living organisms, and the interactions between animals, plants and microbes.

This five-year course is an expansion of our MSci Biology, allowing you to spend your third year gaining experience in industry. Placement opportunities are based on first-year examination results and a successful application to a participating employer. This is a student-led process and you will be supported by our expert team in securing a competitive placement. Throughout your placement, you will receive mentoring and training to help you develop professional skills and make the most of this unique opportunity.
