Published yesterday (2 June), the Complete University Guide 2027 ranks universities using a range of measures covering the student experience, academic quality and graduate outcomes.
Engineering at Bristol has continued to rank highly, with General Engineering ranked 2nd in the UK, Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering ranked 3rd, and Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering ranked 4th and 6th, respectively.
Other highly ranked subjects include Chemistry at 4th and Dentistry at 5th, while Medicine, Law and Mathematics are all ranked 7th.
In the arts and humanities, German is ranked 4th and Music 6th, alongside a wide range of other subjects in the top 10, including French, Classics, History and Politics.
Accounting and Finance saw the most significant rise in this year’s table, climbing 10 places to reach 10th in the UK. Marketing also made a notable gain, moving up five places to 8th. Chemistry and Civil Engineering both rose four places, now ranked 4th.

Overall, the Guide ranked Bristol as the 17th best university in the UK.
This year’s guide ranked 130 institutions, with seven universities entering the subject rankings for the first time. In total, the Complete University Guide now compares 164 UK universities across its subject tables, main league table and performing arts rankings.
The Complete University Guide brings together a range of measures to assess university performance, and uses metrics such as entry standards, student satisfaction, research quality and intensity, as well as graduate prospects.
