Cycle of conferences

In the vast geographical, political, social and cultural space that the Global South represents, contradictions and complexities of various kinds converge. These, far from being the expression of a natural order, are the result of a social production in which the past and the future are sedimented. In this sense, the conferences on the Global South organised by the School for Social Policy Studies seek to open academic spaces for discussion and reflection on social policies and their impact on production, reproduction and social transformation in contexts known as the Global South.

Conference 1: Palma Ratio: reflections on inequality and poverty in the Global South

In particular, the study of these economies from the point of view of their economic history, macroeconomics, international trade and international finance.
