Gradfest Awards Ceremony

The Arts Grad Fest Award Ceremony will be a fun evening where we get to reward the hard work of the students in the faculty. There will be 12 total awards in the Festival, with 10 being awarded at the Awards Ceremony on the 13th, covering the Film, Music, Anthropology & Archaeology, and Philosophy departments. 

 Other things to be aware of: 

  • Semi-formal Dress Code 
  • Photography will be taking place at the event 
  • Doors Open at 3:30 pm, Event starts at 4 pm, Event ends at 6 pm

Special Screening and Q&A Event: Puddle Man  (dir. Jacob Joseph Held, 2025)

Join us for a screening of Puddle Man and a Q&A with its director, Philosophy Student Jacob Joseph Held. Information about Held's Puddle Man, which set in WWII era Dartmoor and currently appearing at film festivals, can be found at https://filmfreeway.com/ThePuddleMan.

The Archaeology & Anthropology department will be showcasing its extensive research projects at the dissertation poster exhibition on the 11th May between 9 am and 5 pm.

There will also be the opportunity to visit an archaeological dig at the Royal Fort gardens.

Our event is a poster exhibition celebrating the dissertations, extended essays, and screenplays of students across the Faculty of Arts.  

Visitors expect to see a rich variety of research presented in visual poster form. You engage with student creators and gain ideas for developing their own future projects. 

 Currently, there are no specific content warnings, but some posters may touch on sensitive creative themes. 

 This is a non-ticketed event, and visitors may enter and leave as they wish.

Short Fiction Film Description

A chance for all university students to screen a live-action narrative short film, be it made as coursework or a society project, with the broad Bristol community.  Films must be made after September 2024 and no longer than 15 minutes (including credits). There are absolutely no limitations in terms of genres, topics or themes. We will only ask for trigger warnings about certain subject matter - more info at registration!
