Investigating the Relationship Between Body Weight, Eating Behaviour, Mood, and Nutrition

Take part in a study being conducted by MSc Applied Neuropsychology students as part of a research project investigating the relationship between body weight, eating behaviours, mental health, and nutritional factors in women.

About the Study

This study is being conducted by MSc Applied Neuropsychology students as part of a research project investigating the relationship between body weight, eating behaviours, mental health, and nutritional factors in women. 

This study has been approved by the School of Psychological Science Student Research Ethics Committee.

What the Study Involves

The study involves a series of online questionnaires about eating behaviour and taste preferences, mental health, physical symptoms, and life experiences. Some people may find some of this content sensitive. 

You will also complete a short behavioural task and a food diary. In total, the tasks will take around 2-3 hours to complete. 

All elements of the study are completed online, in your own time, over a two-week period. Full information will be provided before you begin. 

Compensation for your time

You will receive a £20 voucher for taking part. 

Eligibility 

You can take part if you:

  • Are aged 18-45 
  • Are female
  • Have a BMI of 30 or above 

You cannot take part if you:

  • Are male 
  • Are pregnant
  • Have undergone bariatric surgery
