Testing the feasibility of a mindfulness intervention for women with post-traumatic stress disorder and a history of domestic abuse

Researchers from the Centre for Academic Primary Care at the University of Bristol supported by the NIHR Bristol Biomedical Research Centre have demonstrated that it is possible to conduct a full-size randomised controlled trial of a trauma-specific mindfulness course for women with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and a history of domestic abuse (DA).

New research shows impact of grief during the pandemic as two thirds of bereaved people report experiencing social isolation and loneliness

New research has highlighted the experiences of those who were bereaved during the pandemic and found that two thirds (67%) experienced social isolation and loneliness, with bereaved partners and people bereaved due to Covid-19 at particular risk of social isolation and loneliness. Those bereaved due to Covid-19 were also less likely to be involved in care decisions and be well supported by healthcare professionals after the death of their loved one.
