The goal of these fellowships is for the fellow to publish papers from their PhD and write grant applications to secure future funding, for example for a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) fellowship.

This is the finding of a study by led by researchers at the University of Bristol, published in the British Journal of General Practice today.
