In the lead up to the new budget, a group of MPs penned a letter to the Prime Minister calling upon him to reform Britain's property taxes, which they described as outdated, in order to help Labour meet its manifesto commitments and ease the financial strain on struggling households. This letter has been signed by around 30 individuals from a range of sectors, including academia, NGOs, and the media, including the BPI's Director Professor David Gordon.
