Research interests
Roxanne Parslow (nee Potgieter) has a background in psychology and social science research methods, with particular interest and experience in qualitative methods in child health, randomised controlled trials (RCTs) and outcome measures. Roxanne is a Senior Research Associate working within Bristol Medical School working on two Randomised Controlled Trials (RCTs) focusing on the application of qualitative research methods to improve the design and conduct of health services research. She currently works on the FITNET-NHS Trial (A randomised controlled trial of Fatigue In Teenagers on the interNET (FITNET) compared to Activity Management (AM) to treat paediatric CFS/ME). She additonally works on the IMPPP trial: Improving Medicines Use for People with Polypharmacy in Primary Care. Within this, Roxanne is interested in: i) optimising recruitment and informed consent to the trial ii) patients' experience of the health care interventions iii) developing and evaluating outcome measures and IV) process evaluation.
Prior to this, Roxanne gained a BSc in Psychology from the University of the West of England and completed her PhD at the University of Bristol, developing a Patient Reported Outcome Measure (PROM) for children with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephallomyellitis (CFS/ME).
