Teaching
I am Research Methods Unit Director, and lead sessions for the MSc Orthopaedic Research Methods and Evidence-Based Medicine course. I also lead teaching on the iBSc in Health Sciences course for intercalating medical students. I supervise PhD and MD candidates, and I am always open to taking on more doctoral students.
I have developed and led training in research methods on the University of Bristol 5-day Qualitative Research Methods Short Course, and have designed and delivered training for North Bristol NHS Trust, the HRA Frenchay Research Ethics Committee, and The Institute of Cancer Research, London.
Since 2017 I have been Postgraduate Tutor for Translational Health Sciences, supporting postgraduate students through induction, annual progress review monitoring, through to completion. As part of the PGR team I also contribute to the strategic planning of the Bristol Medical School Graduate Studies Programme.
I am also Deputy Director of Short Courses for Translational Health Sciences, contributing to developing and delivering our comprehensive course programme.
