IAS Benjamin Meaker Visiting Professor: Loc Do

Loc Do, BDS, PhD is an Associate Professor at the Australian Research Centre for Population Oral Health at the University of Adelaide. His main research interests are in population oral health and oral epidemiology. He is currently a Principal Investigator of the Australian National Child Oral Health Survey, which aims to investigate effects of dental health service use on child oral health.

He is also a Principal Investigator of a new birth cohort study that aims to investigate determinants of socioeconomic variation in oral health in early childhood. This birth cohort will be followed into adulthood. Loc has major interest in social determinants of oral health, socioeconomic inequality in oral health, multilevel analysis and life course epidemiology.

Loc is also a Chief Investigator of a NHMRC-funded Centre of Research Excellence. He is an Associate Editor for BMC Oral Health and was member of the Editorial Board for Community Dentistry and Oral Epidemiology.

Loc is also a Principal Investigator in a large data-linkage project in South Australia. This project is led by Professor John Lynch of the University of Adelaide who has strong links with the University of Bristol.
