Operations Board recently discussed a proposal to reconsider our approach to advertising for Professional Services vacancies. In June 2023, we moved to concurrent internal and external advertising in part to support our diversity agenda. We have been monitoring the hiring data very closely over this period and it has shown us that the rate of internal hires has dropped significantly.
With this in mind, Operations Board have supported a move to an ‘internal first’ approach to advertising Professional Services roles at grades G-J (inclusive) with effect from 30th September 2024. This policy change will be kept under review over the next 12 months.
We have been getting ready to launch our job description repository to all staff and are aiming for a soft launch week commencing 30th September. The repository will be available to all staff and will sit behind our ‘Single Sign On’ facility. We have developed a set of support tools including video clips on how to use the repository and some FAQs for staff and hiring managers that will be made available during the launch week. You may notice that our historical organisational hierarchy is still reflected in the repository structure, but this will be updated in due course.
We have already transferred a significant number of our Job Descriptions across to the required (simplified) job description template, but we will now need to see all Job Descriptions on the correct template for advertising purposes and your HRBP can support you with this.
