  • Electronic Travel Authorisation

As part of the transformation of the border and immigration system, the UK are introducing a universal ‘permission to travel’ requirement, which will require certain nationalities wishing to travel to the UK to seek permission in advance of travel. Information on the implementation of the ETA scheme can be found on the Home Office Website.

We are communicating the introduction of the Scheme so that Faculties are aware of this new requirement depending on an individual's visa status. This new scheme will likely impact potential honorary visitors that don't require a work visa. The Home Office have produced a factsheet for key stakeholders.
