Tuition fees
The tuition fee for the International Foundation Programme for Medicine for 2026/2027 is £28,000.
This fee does not include accommodation, meals or other living expenses. Find out about what living expenses you can expect to find.
Deposit
If you are self-funded, you must make a deposit of £2,000 before you arrive. To make payment, you will need your student number which you will receive with your offer.
You can pay this deposit online on our secure deposits page using a credit or debit card or via the university's student payments provider, Flywire.
Refunds
The deposit is non-transferable and non-refundable. There are, however, some exceptions.
You may pay your deposit before meeting the conditions of your offer. If you then fail to meet the conditions and rejected from the course on academic grounds, you will receive a refund.

Accommodation
Applying for University residences
The University has a wide range of residences for you to choose from, and our Accommodation Office will help you find a safe, friendly and affordable place to live.
We strongly recommend applying for University residences, especially if you are under-18, as you may find it difficult to find appropriate accommodation otherwise. If you apply by the deadline, you will be guaranteed a place in a university residence.
- When to applyAccommodation applications for students starting in 2026/27 will open in March 2026. To be guaranteed an offer of accommodation you must apply by the 30 June 2026.
- CostPrice can be a very important when looking for a place to live. We are clear with accommodation fees, so you can choose a residence that suits your budget.
- Single-sex or alcohol free accommodationSome of our residences are completely single-sex. Other residences have single-sex flats or corridors within them. Every year, we offer some accommodation that is alcohol-free.
- Making friendsThe University has a packed social and sporting schedule. It includes exercise classes, nights out and summer balls. Wherever you live, you’ll have the chance to get involved.
