The Jean Golding Institute is one of the University of Bristol's Research Institutes and serves as the University's central hub for data science and artificial intelligence (AI).

- The Jean Golding Institute internal mailing list (managed through Microsoft 365/SharePoint Groups). Please note that members of the group will be able to view the names of other members. The members are University of Bristol members of staff and students.
- Paper-based mailing list sign-up forms.
- Microsoft Forms, Eventbrite, or other online registration systems used to manage mailing list sign ups, attendance at Jean Golding Institute events, participation in communities of practice and other activities.
- Funding and seed corn application forms.
- Expressions of interest submitted to participate in Jean Golding Institute activities, events, funding calls, or collaborations.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Administer and manage our mailing lists.
- Keep you informed about Institute news, events, training opportunities, funding calls, competitions and other relevant activities.
- Manage registrations and attendance at events.
- Process and administer seed corn funding applications and related activities.
- Contact you regarding applications, opportunities or collaborations that you have applied for, registered an interest in, or may be relevant to your area of work.
- Monitor and evaluate participation in our activities to help improve our services and programmes.
We will only add you to our mailing lists where you have provided your consent or where another appropriate lawful basis applies.
We will not share your personal information outside the University of Bristol except where required by law, or where you have provided consent.
Data retention and security
- We will retain your contact details on our mailing lists until you ask to unsubscribe.
- Information relating to seed corn funding applications will be retained in accordance with University of Bristol records management and data retention requirements.
- We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure.
Third-party services
We use a number of third-party systems to support our activities, including event registration and communication platforms.
These services may collect certain technical information from your device, including:
- Internet Protocol (IP) address
