We aim to raise the profile of gender related research

The Gender research group in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law brings together academics interested in scholarship on gender, broadly conceived.

The group seeks to support events and collaborative activities that raise the profile of gender-related research within the Faculty.

We welcome a range of methodological and conceptual approaches to the study of:

  • sex
  • sexuality
  • gender
  • feminism
  • feminist theory.

We organise networking events, guest lectures, workshops, reading groups and other research activities for staff and postgraduates.

Our activities complement the work of the School for Policy Studies’ Centre for Gender and Violence Research and the School of Sociology, Politics and International Relations’ Gender Research Centre.  We also collaborate closely with the research network for Men and Masculinities in Culture and Society (MMICS)

Looking to join us?

We welcome staff and postgraduate students from across the faculty.
