The BDC facilitates a number of different interest groups specifically for PGRs, which provide a chance for you to meet other researchers outside of your Faculty or School.

PGR Clubs

Sessions for the PGR Clubs will be advertised on the BDC Events Calendar and the fortnightly BDC Bulletin

PGR Craft Corner

Crazy about Crochet? Mad about macrame? Bring along your projects to do them with fellow crafty PGRs on the first Thursday of every month. Snacks and some craft materials will be provided but feel free to bring your own too. 

PGR Board Game Club

Regular evenings in the PGR Hub where you can play games from the Hub's extensive collection.  

PGR Film Club​​​​​​​

A chance for PGRs to watch films together with time to chat about films and catch up with other PGRs.  Keep your eye on the Bulletin for polls to choose the film for the next screening.

University Staff Clubs

There are also some University staff clubs open to PGRs such as football and yoga.

Neurodivergent PGR Support Group

The Neurodivergent PGR Support Group is a new community group led by ND PGRs, for ND PGRs! Our aim is to create a space for connection, resource-sharing, and peer support. We alternate meeting online and in person—sign up for the mailing list for updates and the meeting schedule.

University Parents and Carers Network

Black, Asian and minority ethnic students

The Be More Empowered for Success PGR programme offers a range of social and academic opportunities for home Black, Asian and minority ethnic PGR students.

Mature PGR students

Regular meet-ups for mature PGR students are held at the PGR Hub in Senate House.

Trans and non-binary PGR students

Events for trans and non-binary PGR students are held at the PGR Hub in Senate House, including drinks events and coffee gatherings.
