The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree at Bristol provides you with a strong set of core skills essential for contemporary clinical dental practice.

Our course is structured to help you consolidate a solid foundation in science. You will engage with clinical practice early on, starting to work with patients in the second year.

Your training is integrated with that of the Dental Care Professional students. This gives you experience of working in highly integrated, professional dental teams.

Your route to graduation starts in the University, with outstanding facilities such as the e-Learning Suite and the Clinical Skills Laboratory.

You then move to the Bristol Dental Hospital and from there out to dedicated community-based facilities, such as the South Bristol Community Hospital. Here you can apply your skills to a wide range of cases from the local community, in preparation for general practice.

Bristol is a great place to study dentistry; the course has a strong emphasis on both clinical and academic aspects, giving students the perfect grounding before going on to practice as a dentist.
