Colleagues in Chemistry are organising a symposium in Chris’s name, to celebrate his contributions to inorganic chemistry and chemistry education.
In the morning there will be talks from his PhD supervisor and those of us who worked with Chris over the years, and in the afternoon the focus will be on chemistry education, a subject close to Chris' heart as one of the teaching lab fellows at Bristol.
Confirmed speakers include:
- Professor Paul Raithby, University of Bath
- Professor Stuart James, Queen's University Belfast
- Professor Michael Seery, University of Bristol
- Dr Jenny Burnham, University of Sheffield
Everyone is welcome. Registration is free, and the event will start at 10 am. There is also the opportunity to present posters, with a focus on educational projects, to honour what Chris spent his last few years contributing to. If you know of any undergraduates or postgraduates who would like to present a poster, please encourage them to attend - there is some funding available to cover travel costs of students, and there will be some prizes.
